Robin and Sophie Oliver
Hand Across the Oceans
It's really good to be in touch and I know Sophie is really looking
forward to seeing you and our other family when she goes over later
this year. It's ages since I was last there-I can't remember exactly
the year, but you and Phrine were still at home. My!! what a lot has
happened since then.
It was great seeing your M &D and Uncle and Aunt last year, albeit
very briefly.
Sophie is working very hard in the City, tho' she doesn't really like
it very much. I can't say I blame her; she is naturally a creative and
artistic kind of person and marine cargo insurance is hardly the most
inspiring subject to have to get your teeth into every day. She also
has to sit in a cold and draughty (and unreliable) train for two or
more hours a day, and until I got a motor last year, had to deal with
a 2 mile walk in the early morning dark, cold and wet, to the station
and back in the evening. She was and is a real heroine and you can't
imagine how proud I am of her and how much I love her.
We live quite close to A..Julia and Uncle Tommy and their families,
but as usual in such circs. We hardly ever see each other-silly isn't
it?
I'm looking forward to my wife and little daughter, Jessica , joining
us soon from the good ol' Philippines. It's a smashing place, but like
most ex-Spanish colonies the economy is totally in the hands of just
a few families who seem to delight in keeping the masses as poor as
they can, ending up with an economy where ordinary folk are living on
the edge the whole time and have no extra cash to spend on the kind
of stuff which makes economies dynamic. So its impossible to make a
decent living there, and the Philippines major export is now PEOPLE
!! You mention you have some working with you. It's such a shame.
One thing Sophie didn't mention to you is that she is a beauty Queen
title holder and a very good singer. She came first in the local Colchester
karaoke competition last year.
Anyway, better close now. Please give my love to your Mum and Dad and
to Phrine and family and to you too
Take care
P.S. I've tried to attach a recent photo of Sophie in the cockpit of
an SE5a of World War I vintage. It's the only flying one left in the
world and normal people are usually not allowed anywhere near it. All
of the US ace fighter pilots of WWI flew in this kind of aircraft.

Hi You Guys,
How are you doin? Hope Penny had a fab time in Ohio and spent some quality
time with the children. I expect Tito found a few things to do whilst
you were away!!!
Listen, I spoke to Julia last night on the phone. What's all this about
you guys coming over here with Eric and Bridget?
Its great news but you've picked the very time that Tom and I will be
away in Italy. We fly on out 1st June for 2 weeks. Does it have to be
at that particular time. We will be so upset it we can't spend some
time with you all.
I know you are planning to stay with Julia but please remember you will
all be very welcome to stay at our house. We'd like to repay your brilliant
hospitality. We often speak about our smashing holiday with you last
year. Anyway please rethink your schedule because we can't "unbook"
our trip as we've already paid for it.
We love Marco's website and I'm positively hooked on logging on. Looking
forward to hearing from you.

LEANDRO ALERT...........
The latest news from the Tassara's in Hermosa Beach, California.
Leandro had his 4 month doctor's appt yesterday 3/22/02. He is doing great.
He weighed in at
16lbs 6oz. just over double his birth weight. And also at a length of
25.5
inches. Doctor says he is doing great and we can start to give him some
rice
cereal. First step towards solid food. Angela is loving being a mom, and
I
am also loving being a dad. Everyday he does something different. Right
now
he basically is starting to communicate much more. He makes eye contact
and
gives up a smile every now and then. Well guys, we hope you enjoyed the
pictures and video. I will make sure and keep you all updated. Thanks
to
Marco, we will all be able to see the latest.

( C ) The Japanese drink a little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks

My Trip To London
By: Paola Tassara
It was great to have an opportunity like this come my way. I must say
having the company pay for everything was an experience of its own. Unfortunately,
I worked like crazy and it rained everyday. The places I saw were: Buckingham
Palace, Green Park, Big Ben, House Of Parliament, Wellington Arch,London
Eye, Cleopatra's Needle, National Gallery, Picadilly Circus, Soho, Covent
Garden, The Ritz, Harrods (from the outside), The Big Bus Tour, Tower
Of London, The Tower Bridge, Thames River, Stonehenge, Bath. Now that
I look back that looks pretty good for working 60+ hours, sightseeing,
and travel time all in 6 days.

Hi you lot,
looking forward to the Easter weekend and can't wait to leave here. We're
off out in London tonight to some bars in the city and maybe Westend,
there
are lots of us meeting up just girlies! John may be going out with his
friends in Chelmsford and as for Good Friday (tom), we're just gonna take
it
easy and may be go shopping for clothes. Saturday we're hoping to book
a
week away in June to somewhere hot, Spain or France. Sat night going out
with friends to town and Sunday/Monday not sure what we're up to yet.
Hope
you all have a fab Easter. I'm going to a job agency on Tuesday after
work
to go for a position in Media, looking to see what else is out there!
Enjoy! Love Keely & John X X X
